Topic: Attributes of leaders that inspire.

I think about the last line of this LinkedIn post I wrote a lot.

We have to work at it daily so that we can grow and become the leaders we wish we had.

My single greatest motivation for becoming a leader—and for constantly striving to grow as one—is the responsibility I feel for those I lead and serve. Whether I’m having a difficult conversation with a team member or with my boss, I always keep this principle in mind.

Leadership comes with a cost—a reality that many people are either unaware of or, even worse, unwilling to accept.

This is important because true leadership is defined by the question: What am I willing to sacrifice to take care of my team and the customers I’m here to serve?

Your answer to that question shapes not only the kinds of people you can lead, but also the impact you’re able to make.

That’s why I make it a point in my LinkedIn posts to clarify what leadership is not. Far too often, we encounter a distorted version of leadership—a version that misses its true purpose and sacrifice.
